Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn how to curse (and say I love you) in every language known to human kind.
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty much a nerd. That is, I tend to hoard bits of unusual information and then dispense them at random. The last 5 cool things I learned are as follows: 5) about 25% of people sneeze when exposed to light, 4) an apple, potato and onion all taste the same if your nose is plugged, 3) it costs about 3 cents to make a $1 bill in the U.S. 2) the most dangerous job in the United States is that of an Alaskan crab fisherman, and 1) there is a giant mushroom in Oregon that is over 2,400 years old, covers 3.4 square miles of land, and is still growing!
PHILOSOPHY
The world is a masterpiece in progress.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand new to the CS2 Project so I haven't quite figured this out yet...In any other case I would love to host, but with 8 people living in my tiny apartment, space is kind of at a premium :) I'm all about the learning/teaching though and I would love to meet anyone for a drink!
Interests
Latin-American short stories, coffee, social justice, neuro-marketing, astrophysics, seeing smelling feeling hearing and tasting new and unusual things, knitting, drawing, learning to cook from my ex-hippy now Buddhist Quaker entrepreneur chef mother, collecting quotes, collecting philosophies, national geographic, hiking, strolling, walking, and meandering.

Music, Movies, and Books
Here are the first ones that popped into my head: Books--> Animal, Vegetable, Miracle; The Wind Up Bird Chronicles; Love in the Time of Cholera; The Unbearable Lightness of Being; any poetry by Neruda; any short stories by Gabriel Garcia Marquez; The Book of Quaker Wisdom; Skinny Legs and All
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Kind of nerdy, but here goes: I ran a psych experiment where I tested how people perceive faces that are similar to their own. Long story short, I got to morph peoples' faces in photoshop and show them the results without them knowing it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching people knitting and cooking/baking, and I'm always game to learn anything anyone is willing to teach me (although cheese making is currently topping that list).
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Costa Rica, France, Italy, United Kingdom
