About Me

CURRENT MISSION

. . . to think of a mission?

ABOUT ME

Hello,

I am currently a Peace Corps Volunteer living in Elbasan, Albania. I'm a happy-go-lucky scamp behind a veneer of calm. I work with the local government here and look forward to exploring more of the region and the rest of Europe, as well as hosting fellow travelers.

PHILOSOPHY

"the unexamined life is not worth living" -Socrates

"know thyself" - entrance to Delphi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Been hosting a slew of couchsurfers when not hosting my fellow Peace Corps volunteers. Elbasan is a bit of a hub, so it is wonderful to have any kind of traveler stop in and share their stories. I live vicariously through them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went for coffee in DC with a lovely young woman visiting from Paris, France, and I got to stay with the coolest two guys in Toronto.

Interests

I like many things. movies, bikes, learning new things (like juggling, I'm not there yet, but its on the list) eating, drinking and merriment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a self proclaimed movie nerd extraordinaire (which means I don't know jack) but I like a range.
Fan of Pedro Almodovar, older films from the 50's and 60's (Two for the Road is one of the best) but good or bad I'll probably watch it.

music: currently I can't stop listening to Jens Lekman, and The Maccabees, but I listen and am open to a lot of stuff. Also if you like electronic punk, check out Team Robespierre.

books: I'm re-reading "Children of Dune" and just picked up "End of History and the Last Man"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think I'm doing it right now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook a variety of Puerto Rican dishes or things I've made up. Honestly I haven't had much practice in the past 2 years, but I just committed myself to making dinner for folks - so . . . .yeah.

Looking to share good conversation and maybe a bottle of wine.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Canada, Morocco, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In

Albania, Puerto Rico, United States
