About Me
I'm currently a yoga teacher living and working in Chicago. I love reading, writing, exploring new places, riding my bike, and meeting friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In 2009, I couchsurfed in Berlin with an amazing group of people. It was the anniversary of the fall of the wall, so there were about 20 people staying at this 4 person apartment flat. Probably one of my favorite couchsurfing memories (Robert!). There were people from almost 10 different countries there, and that meeting brought us the life-long friendship with the fine Australians who are Ruthie, Josh and Brandon. We surfed two different houses in Kiev in Ukraine, two different houses in Poland (Katowice and Krakow), Amsterdam and Copenhagen. We slept on benches in wineries in Bohemia and in our own beds when we were sober enough to make it back home.
I have hosted dozens of couchsurfers from countries near and far. We hosted three German musicians once and they played a house show for me and all my roommates. We seem to end up with a lot of people from Minneapolis, which is fine with me cause kids from Minneapolis are pretty damn fine. We've hosted kids from Austria, Slovakia, Germany, France, all over the states, and more. I would love to host as many people as possible. Past living situations have lent itself well to my ability to host in Chicago. At the moment, unfortunately, one of my roommates is less than keen to participate so I am unable to host. I hope to move into my own place one day, and I will certainly host again.
I participate by trying to be a good host and a respectful guest. I've had only good experiences couchsurfing, and I want to make sure others can say the same.
