About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Keep my head above water...
ABOUT ME
I work a lot, I laugh a lot, I travel a lot. I'm interested in many things - music (play guitar and love karaoke), reading (whatever..like many genres), running, cycling, swimming (I actually don't like swimming...but I am a triathlete, so it is part of the deal), just about anything outdoors...and people - love people! Dang...and coffee, wine, beer. Truthfully, however, karaoke tops my list - I can do a mean Axel Rose. If you're planning on surfing at my place, in your request, write "I rock the mic at karaoke."
PHILOSOPHY
Take advantage of all opportunities that come your way; travel now...if you wait until you can afford it or until you have time, you will never go; open your mind; immerse yourself in culturing activities; step outside your comfort zone; add spontaneity to your life; be honest; take risks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
A missed plane in Madrid resulted in the cancellation of a hosting in Barcelona...such is life...but I have sense surfed in California and met volunteers at the headquarters in San Francisco. Hoping to get involved with the group here in Blacksburg...doesn't seem to be too active at the moment but I'm thinking we can change that. Recently hosted my first official couchsurfer!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
San Francisco - had an awesome experience staying with one of the Ambassadors...he introduced me to some CS volunteers and I had instant friends. My two days there were never dull, nor did I spend time alone.
Interests
Many of them are listed in the "all about me" - guess I can add sushi to the list. My favorite color is brown...if that's an interest.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Stand By Me, Silence of the Lambs
Music: Country is my favorite, but I am from Nashville. I dig folk and rock...pretty much jam to just about anything.
Books: Wow...a lot. Anything by David Sedaris, the Dave Pelzer series, Harry Potter (all 7 of them), The Secret Life of Cowboys, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Hot Zone, and at the risk of having a lot of people hate me....I must admit that I laughed quite a bit while reading I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow - this is a tough question! I'm going to say artificially inseminating a cow - biotechnology is a pretty amazing thing....and sticking my arm in a cow's rectum, finding the cervix, and then inserting sperm from a bull was definitely an amazing thing to do.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm, I can teach you 3 chords on the guitar that will equip you with the ability to play many songs - C, D, and G. Afraid to take the stage? I'll perform a duet with you for your first time at karaoke. I'm always looking for an opportunity to practice Spanish.
