ABOUT ME

Hey all, I'm Em and I'm an Aussie girl living in Bris-Vegas! For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about languages. From that my love of travelling has grown! I want to experience everything that this amazing planet has to offer, and hopefully learn lots along the way.
I first travelled overseas at 16 and lived overseas at 18. The people I met whilst travelling have become some of my closest friends; I truly believe that travelling is a passion that connects people.
I am friendly, chatty and a reasonable cook. My couch is latte-coloured, and very comfy!

PHILOSOPHY

Your life is completely yours, and yours alone. It is too short to waste, so you may as well spend it doing what want with people who care about you.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I constantly brag about the beauty of Australia whenever I am overseas, so now I am attempting to assist any foreigners in Aus and ensure they have the best experiences possible! And I plan to accomplish this by offering up my couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just started hosting travellers in my little flat in Bris, and so far everyone has been absolutely lovely! I've met some adorable people with the most fantastic stories... Hosting is awesome, I love it! I have yet to surf anyone's couch myself, but I plan to remedy that soon!

BOOKS - anything and everything. History. Fiction. True-stories. War stories. Cooking. Anything by Paulo Coelho, Melissa La'Brooy, Laura Weisberger, James Frey.
MUSIC - everything, and I mean everything. I've sung Taiwanese karaoke, heard a Beligian guy rap and been sung the South African "click" song.
MOVIES - old classics; Gone with the Wind, South Pacific. Any and all musicals. Am in love with Les Miserables and anything with Goldie Hawn in it.

Every experience that you have is amazing in some way! There are however, some favourites:

Trekking through Yanmingshan National Park in Taipei, being interveiwed by Beijing News on the steps of the Great Wall of China; and skiing down a mountain on my face in New Zealand.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I am mediocre at Chinese, so I can have a chat to you if you have a fetish for Asian languages.
Other than that I can say "Are you ok?" in sign language.
I am however VERY talented at teaching Aussie slang, and the rules of State of Origin football to foreigners.
