ABOUT ME
After graduating and heading down the career path for several years, we decided life is way too short to be boxed up for most of it. From that moment we began planning our escape into the world, saving, planning, and selling our belongings one item at a time. We put our plans into action in April 2009 when we purchased a one-way ticket to South America, which lead to a 2-1/2 year RTW adventure!
WeâÃâ¬Ãâ¢re generally considered as laid-back and optimistic people who love a good laugh. We enjoy light-hearted conversation and joking around, but donâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t shy away from more serious topics so long as the tune always remains positive and open-minded.
Allen grew up skating the Seattle suburbs, spending his time developing a healthy obsession for snowboarding, while AngieâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s childhood was spent playing and working in the fields of her families ranch.
PHILOSOPHY
life is so short. If you don't do what you've always wanted to do now, it may never happen.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We got hooked on the concept of CS while in Seattle, and began hosting immediately. Our experiences have been so positive and inspiring that we have made it our mission to spread the word to our friends, telling everyone how it has enriched our lives and what we have learned. Our hope is that we can motivate a few more people to join the network, making the world just a little more connected on a personal level.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We’ve participated by hosting travelers, attending a few of the Seattle and Portland group meetings, and surfing while on our trip. Some of the places we've surfed are:
Lima, Peru
Rio, Brazil
Cordoba, Argentina
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Santa Cruz, U.S.
San Fran, U.S.
Austin, Texas
San Antonia, Texas
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Savannah, Georgia
Kobe, Japan
Budapest, Hungary
Sicily, Italy
Centres d'intérêt
Things we both love: food, laughing, walking around new places, playing games, good wine and beer, meeting new people, watching and playing sports, watching AngieâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s family participate in rodeos, architecture, outdoor activities like kayaking, camping, and hiking, and hanging out with friends and family makes us very, very happy people.
Things Allen loves: snowboarding, skating, surfing the cold NW waters, and running. Allen is an accomplished listener.
Things Angie loves: cooking, looking at maps, studying history, walking all over the place (no running for this one), watching American football, and sleeping. Angie is an accomplished talker.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Big Lebowski is one of our favorite movies. The list of movies we love is constantly growing â and much too long to bore you all with.
We listen to most types of music in the hopes of finding something new we didnât know we liked. We have found music to be therapeutic, relaxing, inspiring, and just fun. We love finding new music, so if you have a suggestion weâre all ears! The local public radio station KEXP, plays some great international stuff, but I always seem to forget to write the name down in time.
We both enjoy reading, but donât always find the time. The travelerâs book exchanges we have found along our route have been great, and weâre also interested in good used bookstores.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Got to sled down queen anne hill in Seattle after a really big snow storm. Since the roads were all closed everyone had to walk instead of drive and gave people the opportunity to meet others in their neighborhood. This made for new friendships and a huge block party with about 150 other people on top of the hill. It dosen't snow like this in Seattle.....hardly ever. This was a once in 50 years thing.

We've got some really good bread recipes, and know how to make an awesome apple pie. We can share some of our fun dice & card games we've picked up over the years. Also, we can show you how to snowboard, kayak and even country swing dance if you're interested (although we're not super good at it).
If it's more professional info you're looking for we both studied architectural design at school and have a some info on home design & building construction.
