ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Southern California (San Diego County - the REAL Southern California...). I love the beach. Living in NorCal is cool though. I've done it twice. I grew up fairly American (all of us in California have a certain amount of Latin culture in us by default), but I have become quite Mexican and Vietnamese, learning the cultures and languages along the way (Ok.. not fluent in Vietnamese, but I'm fluent in Spanish). I enjoy making noise with my music (usually making a mix), playing/watching ball (basketball, football, baseball), eating (going out to eat/cooking), and traveling (locally/domestically/internationally).

I DJed a radio show every week for 7 years, but I'm taking a break. I taught math at various high schools, but I'm taking a break. I guess the main thing I'm not taking a break from is my DJ business.

I go to sports bars on Sundays for football. I surf the net often. I play basketball 3 times a week.

Yup, that's me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed my first couch. It was very interesting. I had it all set up, only.. I couldn't communicate well about where it was. I was traveling to Taiwan, and I didn't know my way around well enough to just arrive at the person's house. So, after days of communications, I was ready. They were going to pick me up at the airport and take me to their place. Only thing is, the night before, they backed out. "My colleague will pick you up. You will stay with her. We'll meet the next day." Hmm... OK. So, arriving in Taiwan, I called the lady. She said she was there at the airport. When I exited, I didn't know where to go, so I called again. She was standing right next to me! It was hilarious. Her daughter and husband pulled up in the car, and we went on our way to their home, giving me some new friends in Taiwan.

Movies - Nah... Comedies are cool though. Like anything Adam Sandler. But I'm too busy doing something to watch movies usually. I also enjoy indie films and documentaries.

Books - Most anything nonfiction.

One amazing thing I've done in my lifetime... I would have to say it's driving around the US in my van with some girl I met online from South Korea. We could hardly communicate!
