ABOUT ME

Retired but trying to get the most out of what I may have left. Fought Breast Cancer in 2006 so life means so much more to me now. Every day is a gift. Love to read especially classic literature. Current affairs make me sad so I try to keep upbeat despite the craziness all around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and be free. We have one life and need to learn as much as we can. The more people you know and the more experiences you have the larger you can be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the recent past I have hosted several young people, mainly from Europe and the US. This effort has made me extremely happy. I have so enjoyed the fine calibre of guests and find that those who travel the world are interesting and enthusiastic people. Knowing them and helping them is a real treat for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the experience to visit some of my guests in their home countries such as Norway, Holland, England to name a few. I have been a guest in France and am about to try some of my native people here in Australia in a forthcoming adventure. CouchSurfing has changed my life and I am grateful to be a part of the system.

Interests

Primarily art appreciation, active oil painter, also act in the amateur theatre in Cairns, currently writing biography.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies are one of my passions, theatre and the arts. Avid Lawn Bowler and must do Yoga at least once a week.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting this far in life is amazing. Been places, seen things, born and raised in America but chose to be an Australian and so proud of it. Love this country and all that it stands for.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a talker, love to meet new people and share ideas. Have found that people have so much in common the world over if you relax and enjoy the experience.
