About Me

CURRENT MISSION

All of life is a foreign country. -Jack Kerouac

ABOUT ME

I'm a quirky and vibrant young woman who enjoys great conversation. Down to earth and easygoing, I laugh a lot and always have a good time. I'm an extrovert who enjoys meeting new people, but can still be a bit shy. Somewhat of a daredevil, I have an adventurous spirit. I'm very inquisitive and enjoy new experiences. I prefer dive bars to clubs and love live music, playing pool (even if I'm not that good at it), cliff jumping, white water rafting, hiking, and tennis. I also have great affection for my city!

PHILOSOPHY

To create opportunities for personal growth and development; to value and appreciate the differences between myself and others; and to encourage laughter and the constant enjoyment of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted people in my very beautiful home city of Portland, OR. I've also surfed with amazing hosts on Crete and in Athens, Codorniu, and Aix en Provence. I attended an amazing (and packed) CS camping meet-up in the South of France, one of my favorite memories from my travels. I would like to get more involved with CS communities in Portland, but have trouble finding the time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting in Portland, Surfing throughout Southern Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm addicted to great books, amazing poets, and love going to cheap movie theaters where you can drink beer or wine or cocktails while watching.

Music...ahh good music...
The Hold Steady, Bob Dylan, Iron and Wine, The Replacements, She and Him, Melanie Safka, The Go (not the same as The Go! Team), Modest Mouse, Joni Mitchell, Violent Femmes, Joanna Newsom, Leonard Cohen, Nouvelle Vague, Madeleine Peyroux, Will Oldham, Bonnie Prince Billy, Greg Graffin, Kings of Leon, K'naan, Mason Jennings, Wilco, Tegan and Sara, Patsy Cline, Smashing Pumkins, Meat Loaf, The White Stripes, The Knife, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Go! Team, Bruce Springsteen, Langhorne Slim

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up in the Columbia River Gorge near Portland and would love to show you some of my favorite hikes and swimming spots.

Improv (I love improv theater and creating improv music. There's something so cool about getting onstage without any lines and creating something out of nothing!) I can definitely show you some cool improv exercises.

Board, Card, and Parlor Games: Tichu, Cranium, Jungle Speed, Pinochle, Backgammon, but I don't really like chess at all.

I love learning new games and languages, and I desperately want to improve my backhand in tennis. I'm also tackling kayaking at the moment.
