About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn everything about the world around me and take it one step further in a positive direction

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded and easy-going person that loves to have a good time when good times are to be had!! I enjoy anything music-related. I'm a pretty optimistic person and have been known to partake in crazy adventures. I love playing my guitars (acoustic and electric) and listening to music. I read the newspaper everyday and follow the news and current events. I am inspired by the amount of potential we all have. I'm an archaeologist that works to protect and preserve archaeological sites from new development. I live for live music and I enjoy just about every genre and era of music. I believe traveling is the coolest thing since sliced bread.

I was born and raised in California and would love to share my knowledge about my state and country. I love good conversation and getting/giving advice relating to anything from investment decisions to the best Mexican food restaurant. I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, especially my nephews. I live for today and work hard for a better tomorrow. I take it easy. I need to travel more...I'm here to make that happen and to meet cool people who like to do the same.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't limit yourself; Carpe diem

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I Couchsurfed in Costa Rica with an awesome family in a suburb outside of San Jose. It was truly a positive experience that I hope others get a chance to do! A friend of the family took me around San Jose for a day. We visited a couple of the main museums and used the public bus system to get around. He spoke very little English and I spoke very little Spanish, but we managed to get by! The main CS Host was great as well, she went out of her way to make sure that I was taken care of and that all my needs were met! I hope one day that I would be able to return the favor and host them here in southern California!!

I've attended many CS events and meetings in southern California. I have hosted several couch surfers as well (see their references below).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Will Ferrel movies, documentaries, and anything that is creative and new. I listen to just about every genre and era of music. I enjoy all types of books but I don't read as much as I should. The Office is the greatest TV show on Earth (both British and American versions). The Long Way Round and Long Way Down series are some of the best travel/adventure/documentary programming on TV ever...check it out!! I read the newspaper a lot (I'm an internet news junkie). I subscribe to National Geographic magazine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a flip stage dive into a crowd during a concert (not recommended!). I've seen more than 250 live concerts. I've surfed and snowboarded in the same day. I visited my distant relatives in Spain whom I had never talked to until two weeks before the trip. I've bungee jumped and skydived. I get to watch my nephews grow up. I get to travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic/intermediate guitar, and, more importantly, how to open a beer bottle with a spatula. I also can teach you to make a mean chocolate chip toffee bar or a stuffed bell pepper. I can teach you the history of our species. I want to learn how to salsa dance. I want to learn EVERYTHING.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Gibraltar, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Spain, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
