About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live each day as if its your last!

ABOUT ME

I've never really been very good at describing myself, although its generally a sensible idea to start at the beginning, so I shall. I was born 24 years ago in Paisley (near Glasgow) and have lived there ever since. I was always pretty good at school, and I achieved the results that I wanted to achieve. I then went to university to do business, but I was never very good at studying, and decided to leave after a year and a half and work full time, which brings me to where I am now. Its taken me a while to realise what I really want from life, happiness, and thats why Im here. I'd like to think of myself as a friendly, easy going person, and I enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places.

PHILOSOPHY

My intention is to live my life the way I want to live it and do the things which make me happy. At the end of the day we are only on the planet for a short period of time, and I feel that until recently I was wasting it. To use an old saying "The world is your oyster", and why not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently looking to improve my knowledge and understanding of different places, people and cultures, and would like to establish lasting links with the people I meet. In the future I hope to be able to do the same for other people, with the wider ambition of improving the society we live in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but im looking forward to hopefully participating in the process in the not too distant future.

Interests

My interests include music, running, hiking, gym, socialising with friends, a number of sports, both participating and watching, and travelling, the last two of which I have managed to combine as a member of the Scotland Supporters Club, which has allowed me to visit places from France to Moldova.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of my interests, and having been to 3 T-in-the-Park Festivals and Glastonbury last year, along with a number of gigs, I have seen plenty of live bands, Radiohead, Muse, The Who, Manic Street Preachers, Ocean Colour Scene and Arcade Fire to name only a few. I also enjoy going to the cinema, and do so fairly regularly, I particularly enjoy films that really make you think, but I'll watch anything from comedy to action. Im not really a big reader of books, although its something I intend to start getting into.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To single something out is pretty difficult, although it would have to be when I was one of thousands of Scotland Supporters who marched through the streets of Paris to the Parc des Princes, not only the atmosphere during the march, but the atmosphere of the whole day (and result), is something which was both amazing to be a part of, but something which will stay in my memory for a very long time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im honestly not sure what I can teach or share at the moment, although I believe that everyone can bring something to someone else. Hopefully my experiences will help me to improve in this respect.
