ABOUT ME

I have enjoyed bicycle touring across the USA. I have completed my second career as a professional student. My first career as an industrial maintenance technician in a pulp(paper) mill ended when I felt it became unstable.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe life is a journey. It requires active life-long-learning. We should all take part in making the world a better place than when we got here.

Share the beauty of life! I have hosted many world travelers since joining CS. I have surfed on a couple couches.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I enjoy vicariously learning through others' experience. Presently, my traveling is limited, but I have hosted many travelers.

Interesses

Bicycling, camping, and traveling. Today, I continue my life long learning quest and sharing my passion for life with the people I meet. In my life before college, I participated in gardening, parenting (they are grown and gone), motorcycling, bodybuilding, home repair and restoration.

Classical music, rock, jazz, soul, and country. Most of the books I read at this time apply to HRD and research techniques.

Life after 40 years experience! When I was 40, I had a friend who was 82 years old. He told me on his death bed, his greatest regret was all the things he wanted to do, but did not make time for them to happen. So, since then, I am trying to experience as many of the things I dreamed about as possible. In that quest, I have hiked the Grand Canyon, Road my bicycle from South Dakota to Mississippi coast, Yorktown Va to Florence, OR, and from Mobile, AL to Owen Sound, Ontario to name a few bicycle trips. I have crossed a total of 33 states by bicycle.

I have bicycle toured all over Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and crossed the USA in three different directions. I have camped, hotel-ed, and stayed with people. I share my knowledge, skills, and attitudes with all who choose to receive these experiences. I have experienced many areas of the southern United States and will gladly tell stories of experience.
