ABOUT ME

I don't really know myself all that well yet, but I guess this is about what YOU want to know about me. I'm a native Californian, I love San Francisco and generally dislike L.A., and I want to see more of this beautiful state.

I am a people-person, as they say, and I think I am an extrovert. I am a bit of a homebody but I also like adventure in its own time and place. I am continually amazed and excited by the interconnected web of human relationships and meeting people that know other people I know.

I am a student, and although I'm good at it, I don't really think that I want to do that for the rest of my life. I am itching to get out there and do something positive for other people.

I love peanut butter M&Ms. I am a part-time vegan. I hate how hot it gets in my hometown. I love tea-time.

I mean, how can I describe myself here? I hope this is sufficient, because "A description of yourself" is an awfully big task.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an Orthodox Christian, so that informs my personal philosophy a lot. A theologian who has influenced my thinking of late is the late Fr. Sophrony Sakharov of Essex, who taught a lot about what love is and demonstrated in his life how to love God and love fellow man. These are my two main goals in life.

Awesome. I CouchSurfed in Portugal and Spain, and it was awesome.

Zainteresowania

Currently, I am very interested in postmodern literature. I'm also very interested right now in the beach, since it is summertime. I'm interested in Eastern Orthodox theology and praxis (working on the praxis part), and in trying to love people around me. I'm a people person, so people interest me.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

music! movies! books!

I like music that tells stories. Recently I've been listening to some electronica, but not a ton. I love Simon & Garfunkel, and Regina Spektor, Johnny Cash, most forms of sacred music, Belle & Sebastian. I like new musical experiences.

My taste is movies is infinitely more dubious than my taste in music. Be forewarned.

I read lots of books, sometimes against my will (ah, the tortures of being a student), but I will read anything that strikes my fancy.

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

Swimming in the Aare River in Bern, Switzerland. I also flew an airplane once, when I was like 11 or something. Those two things are rather unrelated, but both are pretty cool.
