About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much as I can about the world and the people in it in one lifetime!
ABOUT ME
My husband, Race, and I are looking for fun people to hang out with and show them around our little state! We are also wanting to travel and experience the world first hand. I am an ICU nurse at the VA hospital here in town and Race a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). We are hoping to one day do medical missions and we love traveling outside of the U.S. We have three kiddos (10,7,6) who are our greatest adventure in life. I used to play bass guitar in a band called Smitten. A group of friends and I started the band my freshmen year of college and it was a great time. We have met a lot of fun people through the experience and have been part of many great gigs. We now have gone separate ways because of our careers. I do still have a banjo and Race has a guitar, but we are both way out of practice. You, however, are welcomed to play if you like. Race and I got married in Jamaica on January 5, 2007. I guess you can say we "eloped" because we didn't tell anyone we were going until we got there. We planned on having a big wedding with everyone there on July 7, 2007; and even made most of the arrangments...but we found a house that we fell in love with. The house cost us all but 27 dollars of our wedding fund to buy, and for some crazy reason we went for it. It felt real good to cancel all of those formal wedding plans and get some of our money back...and it felt real good having an inexpensive wedding and honeymoon in the carribean. My mom did end up coming at the last minute, she arrived ten mintues before I walked down the isle; I am very glad she made it. And my Dad did "walk me down the isle" by cell phone, which is my favorite wedding photo. We had a great time, had someplace to call home when we returned, and threw a big reception for our friends and family when we got back. Race and I are both Christians and would love to pray with you and/or take you to church with us if you would like. We are very open religiously and would like to learn about other religons as well. We also have a labradoodle (Tellie) and a black cat (Jack). />
PHILOSOPHY
Have fun, be nice, and keep laughing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We try to stay as much involved as possible without being overwhelmed. We have surfed many times, and try to host whenever needed. We are also on the welcoming committee for couchsurfing and try to help new people to couchsurfing "beef up" their profiles.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We surfed our way through Europe on our "Back-pack-o-ganza 2008" month long trip. We fell in love with the CS idea and actually being able to participate was fantastic. We met so many wonderful people, learned about new cultures, saved some great recipes, made many friends, and have countless spectacular memories because of CS2. We totally recommend couchsurfing to anyone thinking about it. We surfed ten different couches and loved every minute of all of them! DO IT!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most every movie (though not a huge fan of horror, unlike Race) I try to listen to all kinds of music; and books...well I'm not currently much of a reader, but do aspire to be one someday.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped deliver my best friend’s baby who surprised us all and came very quickly while we were all still at her house. It was a crazy whirlwind that ended beautifully and we were all so grateful to be a part of it.
Travel-wise....Our Europe trip was absolutley amazing! And we can thank couchsurfing for a lot of that because the hosts we had really made it personal and such a wonderful, memorable experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are trying to teach as many people as possible about this awesome new thing called couch surfing; we do not get many travellers through our area, but the little that we have had we try to show them what goes on here in our neck of the woods.
We learned a tremendous amount of all different kinds of things through our CS experiences in Europe and wouldn't trade any of those memories for anything!
We look forward to sharing our home, stories, grub, and laughter with anyone on their way through our area.
