ABOUT ME

I am working as a public health nurse, loving my job, living in the beautiful rural area of the Columbia River Gorge. I live in Washington but work in Oregon. I am a native Northwesterner, and lived in Oregon for most of my life before relocating for several years to Northern Arizona. I have a love for the desert Southwest that I think I will carry with me for my whole life ... but also it has felt very good to return to my greener, lusher homeland! Artistically my passion is music -- I play piano, accordion and guitar, have performed solo and with a band. I really love Eastern European music and played accordion in a band that did a lot of busking on streetcorners and playing gypsy and klezmer tunes. Sooo much fun. I hope to do more traveling, especially to some of the places where this music comes from. But these days I'm not traveling too much.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted or couchsurfed extensively, but the experiences I have had have been great. I like the openness of this community, and look forward to meeting other couchsurfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have enjoyed the hospitality of many friends, and extended that hospitality also, mostly in more unofficial venues than CS. But a couple summers ago I hosted a couple people traveling from France and it was a really fun experience. I ended up getting a beer with one of them later on when I was in Paris!

I'd love to play music together, or I can teach an accordion or piano lesson. I like to cook, I could bake you a pie (with a homemade crust!) I could recommend some beautiful and off the beaten path places to travel in the Western United States.
