ABOUT ME
All about me. Hm, right... I'd say let's meet and be friends, and after a couple of years I'll let you write this little section, so maybe then you'll know all about me.
Until then, I can confidently describe myself as curios, talkative, sarcastic, a bit cheeky, chaotic, but reliable. Some people might even think I'm funny.
It has been six years already that I've spent in the wonderful and underrated town of Halle doing my studies in medicine.
I'm about to depart on one last big trip (although you never know if it's really the last one) before taking the plunge into the daily grind of working life. I'm keen on meeting and getting to know new people, different cultures, strange customs and unique outlooks on life.
So in August my boyfriend Alex and I will head to South America for four months, travelling Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
What I've already done is having lived in Michigan for a year and volunteered in Lorraine, France for another year. I consider these two years of my life to be invaluable and unforgettable, and I'll always cherish the memories.
This time around, though, I wanna get more of a traveller's impression, I aspire to be a stranger taking a very close look at different cultures.
It would be great if I got to get to know some couchsurfers along the way who will be able to give me their inside perspective. Hopefully, in the end, this stranger will leave as a friend.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to be grateful for the things, opportunities and capabilities I have and the people I know. I love to live and share with those I love!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted when I could! Halle is not among the most well-known towns in Germany, but when I had the chance I tried my best to introduce people to this lovely town. I met great people and especially my last surfer became a true friend.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It all started out with Clément (thanks again buddy) four years ago when he let us surf his couch in La Rochelle, France. That encounter was what got me very excited about the idea of couchsurfing, and as a result I was glad to welcome a few surfers every year in Halle. And right now I am really looking foward to doing some surfing again myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
In general I can say I like stories that are creative, thoughtful, funny, thrilling and ironic.
Music like Cake, Eels, The Weakerthans, Flevans, Element of Crime, I am Kloot, Caesars, Air.
Books by Jonathan Safran Foer, Erich Kästner, Juli Zeh, Umberto Eco, Robert Merle, Hermann Hesse, Carlos Ruiz Zafron, Haruki Murakami...
Movies like Science of Sleep, Diarios de motocicleta (Motorcycle Diaries), El mar adentro (The Sea Inside), Full Metal Jacket, Shutter Island, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Social service for elderly people with dementia - that opened my eyes to what I really wanted to do! Thus I changed my plans from studying politics to studying medicine - I realised that each and everyone can make a difference through their own character and motivation, no matter how bad the circumstances!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit scarves and beanies, and how to cook some yummy traditional German dishes. Also, as a former athlete, I can show you the techniques of disciplines like shot-put and discus.
