About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to create something beautiful and self sustaining, then walk away.

ABOUT ME

I have an annual job at the UN in New York that's a few months a year and the rest of the time I live elsewhere. I used to rely on teaching English then freelance journalism/ writing and now I also do some consulting for UNICEF.

I like reading, writing, dreaming and trying to understand the world we live in. I am always interested in meeting good people, always interested in learning more and sharing what I have already learned. Since food is so often involved with CS, I should also mention that I am a vegetarian. I also like chess!

PHILOSOPHY

after the better world i thought i found suddenly fell apart on me, i realized that searching the globe you will never find a place without faults, the only place that we can make in the image we truly desire is inside, and then hope that everything else follows.

Music, Movies, and Books

all - waking life - george orwell / ted conover / henry david thoreau. best book that I have read recently: Love In The Driest Season

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the most amazing, inspiring thing i have ever experienced was just being at the early blockades in Latacunga that would eventually spread throughout the country and end free trade talks with the US and change the government (Ecuador). I've never seen people so alive before. Under martial law I watched rural indigenous families take on the strongest power the world has ever known - and win. hasta la victoria!

. . . . .
I have also been deported TO the United States FROM Latin America. The two are somewhat related.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, France, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Vatican City State, Venezuela, Viet Nam
