About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being very serious and frowning lots and taking an interest in investement banking and collecting stamps

ABOUT ME

I've just updated this profile for the first time in nearly 6 years - hilarious.

I'm less of a festival-eater wandering shoeless in the search of the perfect party these days and more of a vaguely-focused, borderline hermit with an allergy to big city living and a penchant for fine single malts.

I live in the Central Australian desert with my lady, working in arts / film / event production and keeping things simple. I also literally have kangaroos bounding through my backyard, which is a joyful stereotype come true.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe, fundamentally, that if you live your life as your heart dictates, follow your instincts, and remember how important other people* are to your own happiness, you'll do alright.

*I want to amend this slightly - when I say "other people" I'm pretty sure I mean love. But to say that sounds very fluffy and almost dull so I'll leave it out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted, surfed and spread the word for many years, though since moving away from Sydney I've had a bit of a break from official couchsurfing.

I still love the project and philosophy - it's so important to keep it true, honest and personal, because it really is creating positive change in this funny little world of ours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurf was an incredible experience- the lads hooked me up with a crew that spanned the entire breadth and width of that wonderful world of Ireland- my gratitude for this could only be cheaply expressed in words.

My first hosting experience was something even more incredible. Our dear little Charlotte's planned one-week stay in Sydney somehow grew to 8 of the best months of our lives, and she is now one of the closest friends I will ever have.

Interests

I enjoy breaking down vague ideas into tangible realities - real-life puzzle solving. For me, this takes the form of film making / editing, event production, design, carpentry and LSD.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too much, too much!

I like films that break boundaries without spending too much time self-pleasuring, music that gives me goosebumps, and books that make me cry. Go see CITIZENFOUR!

Jerry Bruckheimer is a dick, I've never been clubbing and I don't read enough, I'm becoming illiterate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved to Alice Springs.

The desert contains the harshest of realities and at the same time, is a complete fantasy world. The people that live there reflect this.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be personal, be honest, always!

Except to real estate agents!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Plenty, probably.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Belgium, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Ireland, United Kingdom
