Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To not settle for a cubicle, to not be afraid to talk to strangers, to welcome excitement, exploration and personal growth.
ABOUT ME
All about me? That's daunting.
I like to imagine myself a reasonable fellow. I have sporadic domestic habits, like cooking allegedly delicious meals and cleaning up after parties that I didn't throw, but I'm also a bit of a wanderer at heart and have earned the nickname "the invisible man" from my brothers for seeming to be here one moment, and gone the next. I enjoy reading, have a great passion for music (although I sadly play no instruments, cannot sing, and can sometimes barely keep a consistent clap going) and am a compulsive note-taker and doodler.
It took me a minute to get past the word doodler. I'm kind of a goof like that.
I like to party, but I also like to garden. I make liars out of anyone who says chivalry is dead. I don't know what else to say about myself. People seem to like me, so I don't suppose I'm that bad.
PHILOSOPHY
Live. Flourish. Become a blessing and a gift.
To exist and not create is ungrateful. One must explore his own existence, and in equal parts draw from the outside world in, and from the inside world out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been a member for a while and always appreciated the idea of an actual sharing economy, as opposed to one motivated by profit.
Over the years I've gone to several meetings and events, primarily in NYC and with the CS group in Barcelona, through which I have made many friends whom I hold dear to this day.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met a lot of great people from both the NYC and BCN CS groups and it only makes me want to become more involved. Those connections have changed the course of my life, in no small way. The best is yet to come, I suppose.

Music, Movies, and Books
Kurt Vonnegut was great when I was in high school. Wes Anderson was great when I was in college.
They both still are as far as I'm concerned.
Music is too big to wrap my head around. I love too much of it, especially live. Like, from James Brown to Broken Social Scene off the top of my head.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A particular storm at sea while I was crewing a yacht comes to mind, mostly because it reminded me of how vast and powerful nature is, compared to how small and weak I am.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn so many things. I'd love to learn more languages, and improve on the ones I do know something of. I'd love to learn to make music. I'd love to learn how to do things that I don't even know about yet, I'm sure.
I can teach lots of things as well, from carpentry to agriculture to culinary skills to patience. If I don't know something, I might know someone who does.
