About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Developing a sustainable ceramics business for the villagers of La Prusia, Nicaragua

ABOUT ME

I love getting creative, making useful things, and I love the outdoors, hiking, camping and hanging out on the beach. Experiencing this diverse world and learning more about people is also a passion of mine; we are all the same yet so different.
I am also very serious about sustainability. I believe that it is extremely important that we, humans, get our act together and take care of the environment that takes care of us.
Subsistence is largely based on food, therefore I am really interested in learning all I can about cooking and agriculture! Now that I have completed my studies in Social Sciences at Cal Poly, I want to gain experience with organic farming from various perspectives. Starting with my mini kitchen garden and taking horticulture and food systems classes, then wwoofing in Europe, and eventually settling down with my own crops :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." (Mahatma Gandhi)
"Eating is an agricultural act." (Wendell Berry)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am all for showing fellow couch surfers around my home! It is good for people to know and appreciate the wonderful world we live in, and I am definitely very enthusiastic to meet new people and learn about all the places I go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experiences have been great! Through this website, I have met Yue in Beijing, China. We also got to meet her family and all had dinner together. Even met a few other couch surfers there. I have also stayed with a couchsurfer in Lima, Peru and hosted two official couch surfers in California.

As for couchsurfing elsewhere... Ive found couches quite comfortable. Perhaps after a wild party, girls night, or just because sometimes you need a nap!
