PHILOSOPHY
There are so many paths in life to follow that I can't regret the ones I could not choose.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a couple of people, or found stragglers on BC Ferries and dragged them back to a friend's place. And by 'dragged' I don't mean kidnapped, I offered them a place to stay without my amigos knowledge!
It hasn't worked out for me to stay with anyone yet but hopefully it will soon
Interests
The outdoors, people, food, canning, beach glass collecting, trains, my pets: a sourdough culture and my composting worms, history, beer, telling stories, reading, snowshoeing, skiing, sleeping in late, making non-nonsensical analogies and discovering new interests

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite books include: Even Cowgirls get the Blues, Plants of Coastal British Columbia, Fear and Loathing, Everything is Illuminated, Botany of Desire, No Great Mischief and the 'His Dark Materials' series
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe one of the most amazing things I've done was hiking on Nootka Island. We flew in on a float plane and hiked for a week. A friend and I climbed up a waterfall and had an encounter with a cougar (I swear it looked right into my eyes!). The hiking was excruciating, through the kilometers of uncleared trail and pebbly beaches but we saw old growth forests, bears, and few other people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I once learned how amazing crepes are from another couch surfer and I always want to pass that on. Sweet, savory, good for every meal.
