ABOUT ME

Hello to all you new (and old) arrivals,

First off all don't let the name scare you (i'm just a hip geek that also likes to play games so that's where i got the nickname from). Anyways, my name is Raphael, but you may also call me The Dude, His Dudiness, or El Duderino. I live (read: chill, relax, work, study, and entertain tourists) in Amsterdam a city that probably needs no introduction!

A while ago i stumbled upon Couch Surfing, and i immediately fell in love with the idea, concept, initiative. So i joined filled out all the stuff and now i'm ready to "COUCH YOUR WORLD!" (made possible by Couchsurfing.com and myself since 2008)

PHILOSOPHY

You know what I want to think of myself? As a human being. because, I mean I don't want to be like "As Confucius say," but under the sky, under the heavens there is but one family. It just so happens that people are different.

That's the number one quote i just have to use here. People are different and that is what this world makes so interesting to live in. In my opinion we can only go forward by helping each other out. So many people mean so many different point of views which will have positieve effects on your own life in a small or big way.

Another thing i life by is "The meaning of life is that it is to be lived, and it is not to be traded and conceptualized and squeezed into a pattern of systems."

I've got four simple things to share with this world:

1. Emptiness the starting point. (So empty your mind like and empty cup, because it's emptiness makes it useful)

2. The meaning of life is that it is to be lived, and it is not to be traded and conceptualized and squeezed into a pattern of systems.

3. The aphorism "as a man thinketh in his heart so is he" contains the secret of life.

4. Meaning is found in relationship. Meaning is the relationship of the foreground figure to the background.
