ABOUT ME

First and foremost, I need to be surrounded by good music at all times. I listen to rock n' roll primarily, but I also love electric blues, some punk, a lot of country, southern rock, stoner rock, heavy metal, anything else with a tasty groove and live instruments. The best concert I have ever been to was Roger Waters performing the Dark Side of the Moon as the moon rose from behind the stage.
Aside from music, I'm a rambling man. I spent fifteen years living in south east Asia. Those fifteen years were perhaps the most interesting years of my life because of the things I got to see. Once I joined the Boy Scouts I began travelling even more to places that I now dream about returning to. The Himalays, white water rafter in Rishikesh, camel trekking across the deserts of Rajasthan, camping in the Smokey Mountains, Colorado Rockies, Canadian Rockies, the Alps, Ardennes, etc etc. I love the great outdoors!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing. I have recently returned to The Netherlands after spending a little more than a year living in Memphis, Tennessee, and travelling around through the surrounding states. Through networking, I was able to stay on people's couches or spare beds while I travelled. Now that I am back in Europe, I feel the need to see more of this continent!

Interests

I play baseball and will soon be joining Los Vatos. It's a beer league, so I'll fit in just fine. I'm interested in everything Pink Floyd. So much so, in fact, I want to visit the dark side of the Moon before it, too, is no longer considered a planet. I like beer a lot and am on a constant mission to find the best beer in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to at least one Clutch album every day. Monster Magnet has been a favorite band of mine since the mid 90s. Pink Floyd got so much better once I started collecting vinyl. Brant Bjork and the Bros is the best live band you will ever see.
Crime, action, thriller, film noir, horror, and comedies are my favorite genres of movies. A movie can't get any better if it has mixed all of those genres appropriately. That's why I like the Coen brothers so damn much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent and amazing thing I have done was hanging out at look out point in Chatanooga, Tennessee. On a clear day, you should be able to see into seven different states. Amazingly breathtaking!
