About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Driving counterclockwise around the United States

ABOUT ME

I defended my Master's thesis this summer, and now I am taking some time off to drive around and see some sights with my husband, Ben. My main life endeavors at the moment include refreshing my ideas with travel, learning the banjo, finding excuses to speak foreign languages, and encountering nature as often as I can. I am a linguaphile, but try my best not to tell unsolicited grammar jokes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy the company of lovely people that contact me, or surf Anya's couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommate, Anya, and I hosted several couch surfers at our apartment in Morocco, and I have stayed with wonderful hosts in Europe. I have started couch surfing again in the US and Canada with my husband, Ben, during our road trips.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kich-iti-kipi is an amazing natural phenomenon in Michigan that is the best thing I have seen in a long time. It's a natural spring with such clear waters that you can see 45 feet all the way to the bottom, and watch giant fish and white sand volcanoes move around. Like many natural wonders, it just doesn't come across in photos, so I recommend anyone going through the area to see it!

Teach, Learn, Share

People who are passionate about something have a way of making you interested in it too, and I always look forward to conversations with those people. I'm always up for language practice, and talking about water and science.
