About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover and experience the most wonderful and absurd things I can on this fine planet.

ABOUT ME

(For one thing, I'm terrible at writing things about myself:)

I'm an aspiring writer/filmmaker/animator/painter/photographer/poet working on as many projects at any one time as I possibly can, and probably too many to actually finish them or do any of them well!
I'm also a compulsive traveller, escaping whenever the money and opportunity arises.

PHILOSOPHY

Obviously not my personal philosophy since I didn't write it, but

"Organisation for peace is different from organisation for war; the institutions which served the struggle for existence cannot serve the pacification of existence. Life as an end is qualitatively different to life as a means."
- Herbert Marcuse, 'One-Dimensional Man'

sums up the way I feel about the world right now.
I think it's careless to try and boil down my personal philosophy to a maxim, since it is the most fluid thing I know, coloured by Buddhism, ecology, anarchism but so many other things aswell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm soon finishing up the end of living in London for a few years, so before that I'm definitely up for hosting some people, or at least meeting up. After that I intend to travel for as long as I possibly can, and with couchsurfing I might just be able to carry on forever!

Interests

Reading, writing, almost anything to do with words or the nature of language, films (making and watching them), cetaceans, primates, all of Nature actually, music, particularly when live, spontaneous and involving everyone in the room, Buddhism, meditation, skateboarding, snowboarding, swimming in the ocean or lakes, mountains, the sun, esoterica, absurdism, the discovery of a new place, person or form of experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My girlfriend took me to Marrakech for my birthday a few years ago. We stayed in an incredible place, and on the actual day of my birthday, we woke up, had an amazing breakfast and morning jacuzzi on our private roof terrace, then drove out into the Atlas mountains to an eco-Kasbah in one of the most stunning locations I've ever seen, donned Moroccan Jedi-style robes, drank delicious tea and did naked yoga in a private sauna. Big.

I love to teach, and will happily teach you anything I know. I'm an expert in nothing, but I'm happy to share on any of these subjects: filmmaking, editing, animation, visualFX, dharma, meditation...
