ABOUT ME

I'm half French, half Norwegian, but I've grown up in Oslo, Norway. I speak a bunch of different languages, have lived in a bunch of different countries, and have eclectic musical taste.

Boring Axel reads the newspaper way too much, is very interested in politics, runs in Central Park, studies Economics and likes to watch comedy in bed. Fun Axel goes hiking, travels a lot, reads Dostojevski and Nabokov, and acts in musical theater shows at my university. Usually (and lately), boring Axel is winning. But I'm hoping that since this is summer, I can change that, at least for a little while.

A friend of mine from Norway and I are driving to Chicago in August, and we'll visit Canada on the way there and then some American cities on the way back. I would love to meet (and host) someone who can host me back when I get to Chicago or in Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh and maybe Detroit. If you're in any of those places between August 10th and 20th and want to stay in New York before August 10th, definitely hit me up.

more about me again: I'm one of those naive hipster liberals types who want to change the world. Or at least not cause any harm to it. More specifically, (and this might seem non sequitur) I'm interested in the Political Economy of the European Union, which is exactly what I'm studying for my Masters in London this fall. Lucky me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a lot of failed attempts to get couches while traveling around Spain. Only place it worked was in Montpellier, France, where me and my friend Nick met the nicest couple ever, who lived in the tower of an old school and designed jewelry for a living. They served us vegan soup and were just great.
