Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To open our home and ourselves to like minded people in the hopes of receiving the same generosity in return.
ABOUT ME
Ziona: I love music, playing and listening. I love lots of things but music's the most prevalent. I love people too and that's why I want you to sleep on my couch. Also because you shouldn't have to stay in an expensive hotel or sleep outside when it's rainy or cold.
And I want to sleep on your couch too. Because that way I can see how you live. And the more I see, the more I change and grow. Will you help me grow? I'll try to return the favor.
Danny: I just got back from a 43 day bike trip from Bloomington, IN to San Francisco. I am interested in sustainability and plan to be a green consultant after volunteering with Teach for America and Peace Corps. I am a Kelley School of Business graduate but I am currently finishing up my last year as an undergrad getting a B.F.A in Sculpture. I like to read, and think, and play with my cat. I love my cat more than my fiance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a fair bunch of travelers. I'm traveling now too. At the end of it, I'll have experienced the giving side and the receiving side. I can't figure out which one I'm doing though.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Ziona: I lived in Berlin for a while and had no money. And for a while I didn't have anywhere to stay, but some friends I met donated a blow up mattress and Danny and I stayed in the closet of an art studio for about two weeks. The bed fit snugly and it was one of the coziest places I've ever stayed.
Danny: I was welcomed into many a home during my recent bike trip. I am grateful and touched by all those who helped me along the way and wish to offer the same generosity to all who love to travel. The generosity of those who have taken me in has restored my faith in this country.
Interests
Ziona: New kinds of music. New kinds of thoughts. Art. Food. Teaching. Dumpster Diving. Learning New Musical Instruments. Learning New Songs. Playing for an Audience. Playing by Myself. Oh, and bikes. Definitely bikes.
Danny: Sustainable architecture, art, science, biking, travelling, breaking social barriers, refusing plastic bags at the grocery store, alternative energy sources, inventing

Music, Movies, and Books
Ziona: I love all types of music but my favorites tend to be simple voices and melodies with meaningful sounds. For example: Kimya Dawson, Paul Simon, Madeline Adams, Spencer Kingman, Rufus Wainright, Sufjan Stevens, Mariee Sioux, Horse Feathers, Iron and Wine, Regina Spektor, etc.
My absolute favorite book at this point is The Slaughterhouse Five.
I really like this movie called "The Science of Sleep". I think it could have been written about me.
Danny: some books I recommend are The Revolution will not be Microwaved, and Blink.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ziona: Birth. I didn't do it, but I saw my sister have a baby and it was pretty amazing.
