About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To celebrate life in all its splendor and wonder
ABOUT ME
I'm essentially just a dude in search of his raison d'être. I live a pretty leisurely lifestyle here in Toronto - good friends, lots to do. I'm constantly trying my best to fill the intellectual void that graduation left behind. Life-long learning is whats its all about...
If I were defined by my activities, you could call me a soccer playing cyclist (fixie, bien sur), piano playing clarinetist, who enjoys a good read, has been known to cook a mean scrambled egg, and has once brewed tasty beers.
I went to McGill on a clarinet scholarship only to topple my world-view/orchestral aspirations and got a B.A. in the humanities and cognitive science instead. I Interned in Germany for an environmental consulting firm, which tried to inspire industry to be good instead of just 'less bad' employing the Cradle to Cradle concept.
After a few years of 'floating', working in the off-beat world of coffee, cater-waitering and home renovations, I've since gone back to school to become a coder and now work as a software developer in Toronto
I'm currently travelling Portugal for 3 weeks, looking to surf, chill out and see as much of the country as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first was an all-too-short but sweet stay in Amsterdam, followed up by a series of great stays in the south of France. The exchange was heartwarming, and the conviviality instantaneous. Hosting-wise, I had about 11 couch surfers stay at my mum's house when she was away in Portugal, thought I'd pay it forward all in one go, lol

Music, Movies, and Books
Akiro Kurosawa, The Brothers Coen, Chris Nolan, Lynch, Polanski, Kubrick, Gilliam...
I'm not the most active music lover... as in, I don't devote much time to listening or the seeking out of new sounds, though when the music does reach me, I can't help but feel its beauty.
I tend to like a good short story or essay, D.H. Lawrence, Mavis Gallant, Kafka, David Foster Wallace...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The birthing of a Calf - quite extraordinary.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn the Brazilian Bossa Nova guitar. I could share my knowledge of classical music, beer brewing, bicycles and the english and portuguese languages , home renovations etc.
