About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to experience life, travel as much as possible, support my family as I'm in the "sandwitch generation" with kids, grandkids and parents, meet people from other cultures and experience their foods, fabrics, values, etc.
ABOUT ME
I am a friendly, pretty much outgoing person who loves to meet new friends, cook, eat, visit small street markets, drink good coffee, make quilts, play with my grandkids, do all kinds of crafts, take photos and be on any type of water in about any type of craft.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to live life to it's fullest and to take the adventures as they come! My favorite travel moment was when a train ticket agent in France said to me carefully as he handed me my ticket "the next train is a bus".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted under a couple of programs for years and have been enjoying hosting couch surfers since 3/08. We were guests a few times in Mexico but have mostly hosted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My husband and I have hosted many people through a previous program but have not often been the travelers! We are also a host home for a local music festival and also had a student from Spain for two months several years ago through a teen ambasador program. A few times I have brought home international students for short stays from the college where I worked.
Interests
Travel, reading mysteries, cooking and baking, knitting, quilting, canoeing, spending time with my family, sailing although I just crew a little and cook a lot!

Music, Movies, and Books
I admit to a shallowness in my passion for light murder mysteries....total escapism! I love lots of music but maybe blues the best. And I am a sucker for nice chick flicks....romantic comedy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe not amazing but really fabulous was a trip to Malaysia several years ago....I especially loved the tea plantations. And, more recently, living in China for four months.
Teach, Learn, Share
Information about the USA. Maybe some cooking or some other crafts. Definately quilt making but that takes some time!
What I Can Share with Hosts
American cooking, travel stories.
