ABOUT ME

all about me, that is maybe a tad too much to fill in just one box here, but here are some things to get you started:
Since I am of the opinion that you only live once, I try to enjoy life as much as possible and try to seek enjoyment in as much as I do.
Enjoyment for me can be found in small things: for example with a good book, a beautiful song, a good talk with a person you've just met, a smile on an unexpected moment... I like good food and believe that with a good meal comes good conversations!
I try to travel as much as I can and want to see as much on this beautiful planet as possible. Meeting people on those journeys make you realise just how small this planet is and how cool human beings are! As much as I love travelling, I always like to come back home though where I love my friends and family, and off course my crazy cat!
I've been living in Ghent for over 10 years now and still like it very much: it's a very beautiful, friendly city; not too big and not too small.
I work in Brussels for the Flemish Government, where it is my job to simplify procedures and deminish the administrative burdens that come along with it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed once in Prague, and it was a great experience, it's a great way to get to know a city: you learn so much more than can be found in the guides! You see the city through the eyes of the people living there, which I found so much more interesting than the obligate top ten attractions...

I hope to couchsurf some more in the United States on my roadtrip in October-November 2009.

difficult question: I always forget these things and then, when asked upon I can't really answer correctly... but I'll give it a try, although this will not be near complete!
Movies: Forrest Gump, Magnolia, the Matrix, E.T.,
Series: the West Wing, House MD, Norhtern Exposure,
Music: I love my Ipod, really, I wouldn't want to miss it for a single day!!! Music on it ranges very widely.. from The Doors to The Ting Things, off course groups like Blur, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana. I very much like Radiohead! Recently I've been listening more into folky alternative stuff (don't have a clue how to name it...) like Samamidon, M. Ward, Devandra Banhart, Vetiver, Jens Lekman, the Dodos, .. and so on and so on..
Books: I like almost every book by Paul Auster, Douglas Coupland, Murakami, ... but also classics like The Perfume and others (damn, my memory!)
