About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To boldly host where no-one has hosted before! or sth.
ABOUT ME
Liron: I live with my boyfriend and our cat in central TA, near the beach.
Ami: I'm the afore-mentioned boyfriend. I'm a 34 year old programmer. That is a disturbingly short description, so read on. There's more of me to know than just this.
PHILOSOPHY
Ami: Be kind, please rewind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've been hosting for a while now and gathered together a few tips about being hosted. Its really all just basic stuff:
(1) When requesting for a few persons, always, always have complete profile for both you and the other person(s). As hosts we will usually not host anyone that does not have a complete profile: At the very least we want to be reviewed by the person we're hosting - and they can't review us if they don't even have a profile...
(2) Make sure to provide many, clear pictures in your profile. We can't stress this enough. Even if your language skills are poor, pictures can really make up for it. We've had people send us requests with masks or faces covered .. It sends the wrong signal.
Also, try to have pictures of you with friends and\or cute animals :] Dont be shy - dump many many photos.
(3) the "personal" part of the request is meant to be personal. Take an extra minute and show the potential host that you've read their profile. As hosts we're always happy when someone compliments our wide interest in music. Or says something about chocolates. Just something that would tell the host you've actually read the profile carefully...
Interests
Liron: I like making things! or making things happen. And preferably with a bunch of other people: stage design, making clothes, Indian cooking, organic gardening, sculpture, photography etc. Right now i'm also working as an art-critic for a newspaper.
I used to be more of an activist, but am now looking into more positive-minded ways to make a difference, like green architecture.
Oh and yoga! I do quite abit of that.
And surfing. That's new :]
Ami: I'm into Computers, Rollerblades, Philosophy and Culture in general. Music is a particularly big thing for me - and almost everything goes. I'm an avid Bach fan.
Oh and chocolate. Pastries and chocolate. Deeply committed to that.
