About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To encourage people to get out of thier comfort zone

ABOUT ME

I live with my fiance Dashiell in a large historic home in downtown Grand Rapids, walking distance to everything. We are both professionals, college educated. We like people and having a good time, but no smoking or drugs please. Bring on the beer...especially if it is a microbrew!

PHILOSOPHY

"Be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to show off Grand Rapids... as there is always something awesome going on. We also love to travel. We have hosted several individuals both officially through CouchSurfing.org and unofficially via acquaintances. We have surfed occasionally, but want to do more, as soon as our finances are less constrained due to house remodeling.

I also actually do something very similar to CS at work when peers, customers or suppliers are in to visit our site. I am typically in charge of taking them to dinner, showing them around Grand Rapids, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed across India, helped some Saudi's here in the States, hosted a Vietnamese family for a while, met with a local in Italy, surfed across Seattle with Dashiell, hosted several people in our new house downtown, and we are always looking for new experiences.

Interests

Besides domestic and international travel, I like going to Lake Michigan anytime of the year, rock climbing, hiking through ravines, playing soccer, hot yoga, cycling, lounging at wineries, going out to the bars and dancing to electronic music at clubs around town.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mostly business or informational texts and business articles, such as Robert Kiosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", as well as various science/inventors websites and magazines. Dashiell reads a lot of fantasy and LOVES zombies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have camped off horseback in the Canadian Rockies for two weeks, where we had to pack everything we wanted during the entire time onto mules the first day.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, India, Italy, Japan, Nicaragua, Peru, Taiwan
