About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get an Experience of the world and get a try of everything that is thrown in my way.
ABOUT ME
I'm a student in his mid twenties, grew up in a little bilingual town in Italy (my mother tongue is german) and a guy who loves to try new things out and getting experience in life.
I've got quite a few passions, wich are listed in my interest.
It was always a dream of me to travel around the world. With the early age of 14 I moved out and went to Austria to go to school there and follow my interests. A couple of years later I did an exchange program and lived a whole year in Canada. Now I live and study In Vienna, Austria, wich is a perfect City for a student.
In short words: I love my life and make the best out of it by trying everything that looks interesting.
PHILOSOPHY
There is something new, which I've never heard of? Lets try that out!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I visit a place, I don't want to see just the old churches and other buildings, but I want to really experience the culture. In my mind there is no better way in doing so than with couchsurfing. Who could give better insights, than people that lived in the place for some time?
Even people who moved recently to that particular place know often more than those living there for many years. Either way, I am happy to meet you, have fun together and learn about your town!
At the same time I try to give the same experience at people traveling to my town. I am on the road a lot, but if the timing is right, I am more than happy to host you.
Interests
Update:
I developed a passion for photography in the last 2 years. It took some time, but I think slowly I am getting better at it (or so my friends tell me). But why don't you check some of my photos out yourself? www.flickr.com/eddieace
Another thing I kept doing over the years is slacklining. I find it both challenging and calming, it's very relaxing!
Some things I do (or did) with passion:
I play for over 10 years now the sax and tried a bunch of other instruments.
I absolutely love to ski (downhill). The best part of skiing is to go backcountry into the real deep powder. Perfect!
I love meeting people all around the world. When i did my exchange year in Canada i met Friends from all over the world and that was the best thing that could ever had happened to me.
Party!
Many many more things there is no place to list them all up.
- photography
- cooking
- partying
- traveling
- socializing
- juggling
- music
- camping
- skiing
- sports
- rock climbing
- mountinbiking
Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I absolutely love old movies (before 90ies), independent productions and movies from all over the world.
What I absolutely don't like (right now) are standard Hollywood-production Blockbusters. They are all so very similar!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my opinion the best moments in life are when you work hard for something, maybe for hours, for weeks or even for years and then comes the point, where all comes together. Many times I was sweating, swearing and almost giving up frustrated, but I have had some of these moments and the satisfaction and happiness I got out of them were worth every second spent on it.
This feeling of great achievements keeps me pushing my boundaries and trying new and exciting stuff again and again.
Some examples? Gladly!
Many times (!) recently it's just studying and passing an exam. More fun to do is climbing up a mountain and standing on the top of it (and finally being home). One great thing in my life was to get into a program to spend a year in the highschool in canada. I remember the big smile on my face, when I sat in the plane taking off, knowing that something exciting was awaiting me. Other things were winning in a talent contest by playing the saxophone, or even knowing that you are good enough in something to be able to participate in a contest, visiting great places in the world, getting the feeling for the first time to be able to live (more or less) independently, etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
There are many little things. I know how to play pretty much all wind instruments (I used to job in a music camp), I juggle (especially Diabolo), ever heard of a Slackline? No?? You need to try it!
I am willing to lern anything that sounds interesting to me. Sports, Dancing, Acting, Cooking, Photography,...
