ABOUT ME

I'm 28, I work at an Arabic language television news station in the D.C. area and I play guitar and am a big music and movie buff. I also once published a short story in a British literary magazine called Ambit. I've also spent years in the nightlife/bar/restaurant/service industry and often prefer that crowd to the yuppie grad school suburban crowd.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While studying abroad in Egypt in the spring of 2008, I couchsurfed across Morocco for two weeks with a friend and had a fantastic experience with very gracious hosts.

Talking to God on acid in college (my drug days are behind me), getting on the back of a total stranger who spoke no English's motorcycle in Morocco, having an Egyptian undercover cop pull a gun on me for pulling out a realistic gun-shaped cigarette lighter in public

I would love for people to help me get better at Arabic and French. I play guitar and I once taught English to Egyptian students so I can help with guitar playing and English.
