ABOUT ME

My wife Leslie and I were married in the fall of 2011 and have since been traveling around Scotland before settling down for a good bit. We aim to raise up a smallholding in southern Michigan for veg and poultry, and try to stay cheerful and silly while we work. We like playing music, knitting, spinning, livestock, friends, good food, dark beer, and the list goes on...

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to subvert the ways of the kingdom of the world with the small, slow kingdom of God, through loving God and loving people, and living a life that helps me to be a more human person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Leslie and I had a very positive experience surfing in scotland. We are now living out in the country and are wanting to have more people around us, as well as wanting to see CS from a different point of view.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the first time in Boone, North Carolina, and had an amazing time. Since then my wife and I have surfed in Oban, Ullapool, Stornoway, and Edinburgh, all during the first months of 2012 for our wwoofing trip in Scotland.

Interests

being barefoot more often, jesus, radical loving behavior, singing, acting, writing poetry, clowning, juggling, playing the piano guitar and djembe (not at the same time), trying to find new sounds. Sweet things, tiny hiding places, tiny hidden notes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked and camped in the backcountry of the Rockies for a week on my own.

Had my life turned upside down by refugee children from Mexico and Burma for five months straight.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to crochet, play the djembe, do fun word-play games, and maybe basic juggling stuff.

I would love to learn more about communal living, gardening, sustainability, permaculture, learn to play the guitar better, learn to make my own clothes better...and anything else you're excited to share.

I want to learn better ways of being odd.
