About Me
Hi! I'm new to Couchsurfing. I grew up in the countryside but moved to Gent a few years ago where I share a spacious apartment with one of my best friends. Happy to host people visiting Gent, feel free to get in touch!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I opened a shared account in 2008 with my girlfriend to find a last-minute place to Hong Kong but never really used it. I've now just come back from a roadtrip in the UK and I've been paying way too much on accommodation so I've decided to become more active here in using couchsurfing in the future and returning the favor to people in need of a couch to sleep on in Gent. So if you're coming to Gent and you need a place to stay, get in touch!
Music, Movies, and Books
So much music.. if you really want to know we can talk about this when I host you! I have a pretty big record collection so if you like listening to records it's no problem, but do ask me before hand, they are my babies and I like them to be handled with care :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Earlier this year (2017) me and my friends climbed the Triglav mountain in Slovenia. Both amazing and amazingly stupid as we had zero experience and we took a path for highly experienced mountaineers only.. We survived!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live in a spacious apartment near the city center with one of my best friends. My bedroom is a mezzanine with a one person guestbed on the first floor. Alternatively, if you are more than one person, I can sleep in the guestbed and you can have my (double) bed.
There's also a big sofa in the living room in which our friends ocasionally sleep and there's loads of space for inflatable matrasses so we can literally accommodate loads of people! Just get in touch and see what we can do for you.
The city center is a 15min walk from our apartment, also there is a bus stop just around the corner or you can use our bikes.
For those traveling by car: our street is in the Green Zone of Gent, which means we have the cheapest parking. One day costs €3, between 19:00 and 9:00 it's free. Also free on Sundays.
We have 2 super sweet cats living in our apartment. They are not allowed into the bathroom or bedrooms. If you hate cats then this is not the place for you so please don't bother sending a request.
