About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spread the love. Enjoy the ride.

ABOUT ME

Well, here´s my story-I´m taking a year off before really starting my degree in Australia (Bachelor of Liberal Studies). I worked in Sydney for 6 months before coming to Europe in December, where I travelled for 2 months before settling down in Barcelona to learn spanish for 3 months.

I´m just getting started on my plans to travel around Spain during my last month in Europe. I study spanish but at home and really want to learn the language well. With my portuguese I didn´t have much trouble picking it up, but now I really want to consolidate it, I make many mistakes when I talk and would love to improve.

I really like meeting the locals of the cities I visit. I´m always interested to hear about their lifestyles and customes. This is one reason the idea of couch surfing really appealed to me. I love a good chat, to anyone of any age from anywhere. Thats one of the fantastic things about travel - the imensly diverse range of people you meet while trotting around the country. I love it.

PHILOSOPHY

Hm. Well, instead of thinking about the meaning of life, and asking myself ´why are we here?´, i just try to have the best time i can whilst standing a top this little world of ours. I´m a very cheery person, I always have a good time no matter where I go, and I think... ´Why do i live my life?´... i think i live it so i can feel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time couch surfing, I have no previous experience with this sort of program. Earlier trips I´ve normally stayed with family (often very distantly related family who I hadn´t met until the day I landed on their doorsteps) or with my immediate family, so we stayed at hotels and the such.

I have stayed with a lot of random family though. It´s sort of similar I suppose.

Interests

Oh god, how about... the world? and everything in it?

I´m happy to listen

Music, Movies, and Books

Ah ok... I love The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers, Sidhartha by Hermen Hesse, 1984 by George Orwell, The Wind in the Willows... and a whole lot more.

Movie-wise I´m a Clockwork Orange fan (yet to read the book), as well as Sommersault, Candy, The Rabbit Proof Fence, Black Balloon, Pay it Forward, Te Tois, Barcelona Apartment, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Sea Inside...

Music, I could really go on all day so I´ll just give you my favs - Shpongle, Placebo, Decoder Ring, Something for Kate, Marisa Monte, Gotam Project, Moby, Andrew Bird, Chilis, bossa nova is awesome, as is old school jazz music, and i love just chilled out guitar and vocals, AND reggae... yeah a bit of a music whore, its fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Carnival on the French Beach in Brazil, feburary 2007. I partied hard with a housefull of 50-60 year olds when i was 17 for a week. It was so random, and yet so awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love playing cards. Especially ´pointinho´ and ´conti´ (im not sure how to spell those) as well as canastra, and anything you want to teach me. If you want to learn any of these, I´ll do my best at teaching you.

Countries I’ve Visited

Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, South Africa, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Brazil, Spain
