About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to let my music take me around the world, be welcomed everywhere, and meet true, honest people that value their time on this earth.
ABOUT ME
Quite into music, performing live...never really enjoyed other jobs, so I'm giving it a good go to try and make a living at it. Live in St John's with my new bride, Nancy (who is a nurse).
I'm writing this mostly in the first person, but the truth is I put the profile under Cody and Nancy Westman because most people would find comfort in the fact that we are a couple, we are married, and we own a house. People coming here know that they won't be staying on some gross college dorm floor:)
I'm into Couchsurfing as a way to travel the world and go straight to meeting cool, like-minded people that you can have fun with, who will show you what their city is really about and save money on the cost of hotels. Let's face it, traveling is expensive! If I can save someone a few hundred dollars when they are here and show them a good time too, then when I go on tour, someone does the same thing and brings their friends to my show, I'm very happy!! Life is too short...let's cut to the chase and meet some good people!!
We love music, movies, food, drinks, friends, concerts, pubs, exercise, games. That's the short version...
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would like to be treated, trust but be cautious (for everyone's safety), aim HIGH (the minute you quit going for your goal, you will NEVER there, and will surely regret it!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Did my first solo tour of Europe in May 2008 and joined Couchsurfing upon a friend's recommendation prior to booking the tour. Turned out to be the best part of the trip, all the people/new friends that we met! We stayed with people in Holland, Belgium and Germany. When we got home we wanted to give back so we hosted people from Australia, Germany and England. Obviously, this is the new way to travel the world if you are an outgoing, adventurous person who wants to cut to the chase and meet cool people like yourself who are proud of where they live, like to have fun, and realize how expensive it is to pay for hotels/eat out when you are traveling! (P.S - Couchsurfing tip: Do like we do, buy beer, buy food, offer to cook when you are staying with new friends. It goes a long way. You are not just showing up to a stranger's place, dropping your stuff off, staying for free and never hanging out or giving back! It's more than that :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up outside of a VERY small town. We grew our own vegetables, hauled our own water, didn't have a toilet till I was 5. Made something from nothing. All the while surrounded by the beautiful creatures of northern British Columbia, Canada : Moose, bear, deer....I think that's pretty amazing
