ABOUT ME

John is the kind of guy that tackles anything head on. He's an artist, an engineer and now the Minister of Community Services and MLA for Mt. Lorne Southern Lakes, Yukon. Susan is a bit on the laid back side, she studied fine art and loves her work as a Registered Nurse at the Whitehorse General Hospital. We both curious and interested in life and all it entails!

PHILOSOPHY

We are in love with where we live. We try to find ways to appreciate and respect the world around us.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have only ever hosted with CS, it's been a great experience - we get to show the beauty of the area we love and live in and we talk about where our surfers are from, about what are our differences and similarities on all sorts of subjects. We look forward to surfing a few couches in the future - just got to nail it down as to where in the world to go!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2000, Susan and I took a slow trip across the country in our VW camper van. Over 3 months we went from the Yukon to Gros Morne and back again, crashing with friends and family the whole way.
Over the past years we're hosted many people from all over the world and love to share good food and learn about other places, customs, ways of being.

Interests

Interests are too many to list, but one thing that Susan's artwork has focused on is being close to the natural world and watching it change over time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We did an expedition together with Student's on Ice. We went with 100 kids on an experiential learning trip from Iceland to Greenland to Baffin. Susan was a nurse and also worked on art projects with the students. John's expertise was on climate change.
Travelling to India in 2009 was a highlight. Anytime we go to different places we learn & see so much
