About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of the world as I can
ABOUT ME
I grew up in London so I'm a city girl at heart but I'm so glad that I got out, discovered the travel bug and stumbled across some incredible places along the way - it's sort of made me very adaptable to life in different environments. I have drifted round the world doing some amazing research and conservation jobs but I am now freelancing offshore and working as an instructor for offshore safety courses.
I love being busy, active, outdoors and anything that involves adventure, travel and meeting new people. Luckily, my job also lends itself to that kind of lifestyle. There are far too many places I want to go and see and I seem to constantly be saving money for the next adventure. I will try anything once.
'Work hard, play hard' describes me perfectly.
PHILOSOPHY
If you choose to do something, do it to your best ability... if you don't like something about your life, change it... always find new challenges... take inspiration from other people... and never settle for second best...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed more than hosted because I am constantly on the move but on the occasion that I did manage to settle for a bit, my couch saw a couple of surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
On the whole it's been fantastic apart from one notable exception. I think it's a great idea those who want to meet new people (and local people) on their travels.
Interests
SCUBA diving, skiing, travelling, generally keeping fit... and I recently discovered body boarding and loved it! I've had a long-time fear of big waves (and generally being dumped and unable to breathe - bit weird for a marine biologist I know) but a good teacher can work wonders.
Once upon a time I was heading towards a career as a professional flautist. It's still a big part of my life but now I just play for fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - anything and everything I can get my hands on when traveling.
Music - mainly chill-out, dance, rock, funky house, jazz (Basement Jaxx, Mylo, Royksopp, Chilli Peppers, Lifehouse, Marcus Miller, Couting Crows, Matchbox 20, Cat Empire to name a few) but will listen to most things.
Movies - erm, apparently I'm far too picky when it comes to movies...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Monitoring whale sharks.
I'm pretty proud of me sticking it out on a tiny island with seven local Seychellois men for a year!
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach music, diving...
I'm generally willing to learn anything though I'm not so hot on languages which is a downfall as a traveler. But since I decided to move to Norway, I have been learning Norwegian and finding it easier than I expected! I also love experiencing other people's cooking to get new ideas for myself and then hopefully I'll be able to pass this great food onto someone else!
