About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish my PhD

ABOUT ME

I was born and grew up in Madrid, but I've always been passionate about travelling, and since 2006 I've been living in Paris, the USA, and since 2009 I live in London, where I do my PhD research in Intercultural Adaptation of Spanish Musical Theatre. I am outgoing, passionate about what I do and I consider myself a pragmatic and positive person.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep an enjoyable life. Don't make permanent choices without acknowledging and experiencing the alternatives. Be aware of the others, you are not alone. Try and enjoy life: if something doesn't work, make a change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered CouchSurfing in the US, and now I want to keep sharing experiences with people. Even though I am not always able to host, I am happy to meet any travelers. Wherever I surf, I try to bring with me good energy and a taste of my culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Manolito Gafotas, Angela's ashes, The count of Montecristo
Music: Copla and folkore, jazz standards, latin and songwriter singers. I love stories and music, so when both combine, that's heaven. Salsa, tango and rumba flamenca for dancing!
Movies: Again, good narratives. My favorites are European (Spanish),Latin American, most American Hollywood classics, Almodóvar (big fan). I find myself to be a nostalgic of the 1990s (maybe because of my childhood...). However, no horror or science-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far, the first amazing experience that comes to my mind is my trip to Costa Rica, where I was hosted by wonderful couchsurfers and experienced things such as climbing 40m tall fig tree. However, the thing I am most proud of is having the discipline and consistance to pursue my vocation to this present day, and the shows I have created out of love and persistence.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some basics about my cultural background and education (languages, film, music...). It's funny though how once I have learnt something, I quickly forget about the difficulty and possible struggle that involved its learning and I just accept its knowledge as something natural that probably most people know... "The more I learn, the more I realize the less I know"
