ABOUT ME

Jesus, family, friends. There's no better way for me to know myself than for me to know the One who created me. My family is also FANTASTIC and I love them with all of my heart. And friends...God has a way of just dropping them in my path when I least expect it and most need it :)

PHILOSOPHY

To pursue the ardently-beating heart of God. I will spend the rest of my life falling more in love with Jesus- the earth shattering, nation shaking, life-changing Jesus, who is radical and real and far beyond the meek and mild white guy who made you yawn in Sunday school. He's tangible, he's revolutionary, and He'll ruin your life in the best possible way.
He's also the one who lived out and promoted cultural diversity-- conversing with and helping people of all creeds, colors, languages and cultures...so I have set out to do the same!

I am making friends across the globe as I couch surf and learn about other cultures. I am also donating, yahoo!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some of the best traveling experience I have ever had! While backpacking through Europe I was continually astounded at how set apart my encounters with couch surfers were from the rest of my experiences abroad. The hospitality, kindness, generosity and priority that my friend Brianna and I were shown was UNBELIEVABLE. The conversations we had, crazy things we did, and all of the things I learned are more valuable than I can describe. Couchsurfing has been a further reminder to me of how small this world really is, and how God can take people from all types of backgrounds and bring them together to learn from and impact one another.

My amazing family-- my brothers, who are my two best friends, traveling, eating, laughing, singing, running, basketball, dancing like a maniac, reading, jumping....let's start w/ those.

My favorite music:
Mutemath, Bethany Dillon, U2, Billy Joel, Imogen Heap, oldies (i.e. the Drifters, Bobby Vinton etc.) Loreena McKennitt, Bryan Adams, Hinder, Coldplay, Nickelback, Pavarotti, Salsa and Nepali music, Classical and Baroque era tunes, honestly i could listen to almost everything....... i also love acoustic stuff, stuff with cello, upright bass or the sitar, or anything danceable, i move to the beat :). and, hey, 50's- 90's all day long too. Plus the stuff on the radio ain't so bad...
My favorite books are Nicholas Nickelby, Pride and Prejudice, The Outsiders, The Scarlett Pimpernel, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Mole People, Shadow of the Almighty, Lorna Doone, The Screwtape Letters, Captain Blood, The Letters of John and Abigail Adams, and who can live w/out their study Bible? not me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the Grand Canyon in Phoenix, AZ USA.
I saw lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras etc. etc. in the wild in South Africa and Swaziland
I ate sheep stomach lining!

The most up-to-the-minute HIV/AIDS research and treatment methods come to the US and the world by way of Senekathemba ("We Give Hope") Hospital in Durban, South Africa. Each hour, each day, they discover new methods to help the people of the world who are suffering from HIV/AIDS. They send word to their government who then sends word to the rest of the world.
