Über mich
*** not accepting guests, traveling until mid-June, 2016***
CURRENT MISSION: To enjoy the human experience, and to that end, Couchsurfing has been invaluable!
ABOUT ME
I am an outgoing, fun loving, student of life. I like to try new things (never been hot air ballooning, but can't wait to go!) go to concerts (everything from James Taylor to Tiesto to Metallica), visit new cities, bars & restaurants, read, golf and scuba dive.
For the past two decades, I have been a consultant to the wine industry: importers, distributors, retail store owners, etc.
I enjoy photography, learning lessons from nature, from history and meeting interesting people with depth, perspective and honesty.
The winegrape is one of the most fascinating things I know of - it is culture, it is civilization, it is a social bond, and it has my heart.
As a guest, I'm not looking for a free couch, or a free meal, and as host, I would expect the same from you (though I always cook, who am I kidding!). I'm looking to share the human experience with people different from myself so we can both learn and enrich our lives.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe a good attitude and a healthy respect for others can carry us farther in life than all the money that's ever been printed.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It is much more rewarding to give than to receive, and to that end, we open our home to guests from across the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Some of the best times I've had in my life were the ones that involved a certain degree of letting fate decide. Get out there and live - that's what I say!
Without a doubt, some of the most interesting people I've ever met have been right here, on CS!

Musik, Filme und Bücher
too many to list. I'm more of a lover of the arts than my wife...unless new shoes are art (just kidding...
These days I prefer non-fiction, my wife and daughter, fiction
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I've done lots of amazing things, and the one thing that makes them amazing, for me, is that I've gotten to share them, with friends, family, couchsurfers, etc.
My sister used to work at an airport, which after a crazy drive from the concert led to a private conversation with Bono - not planned
At breakfast one day, a conversation with a Mom and her daughter about pancakes led to a flight up to Mt McKinley base camp, 2 hours later - not planned
... and the list goes on and on
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I have over twenty years of wine-related experience. I have traveled to many of the greatest wine regions in the world including: Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Rhone, Loire, Barolo, Barbaresco, Veneto, Chianti, Priorato, Napa, Sonoma, Alsace, Champagne, Mendocino, Oregon, Washington, etc. I have worked with dozens of winemakers and vintners as I work to perfect the business of wine.
Plus, I make a pretty good risotto!
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I can make you a better photographer in 30 minutes!
