My name really is Deep :)

Am 26 years old..born and raised in Rotterdam.

I just got a job in the UK and moved to Swindon quite recently. It is all very exciting: life in a new country, a lot to explore, a lot to experience.

I always find it kind of difficult to describe myself...*thinks*

PHILOSOPHY

Several things:

I often think of the Zoroastrian adage: "Good thoughts, good words and good deeds." I feel it captures the person that I aspire to be.

I think life is lived best if you are kind to other people (and animals!) and enjoy each day as it comes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed in the US and hope to meet some people in Swindon as well.

If you are need of a couch to crash on. I could try host you in my 'studio' (it's basically a big room, with a kitchenette, en-suite and a couch) in Swindon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed my way through the United States and have met many wonderful people. I've learnt that even in today's age, hospitality is a virtue and people help because of the kindness in their hearts. It was a wonderful experience which has definitely given me an more positive outlook on...everything :)

Interests

I've got this really big fascination for Central Asia and have been lucky enough to visit Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan..

I've started quite recently with Ving Tsun/Wing Chung Kung Fu..which I really enjoy.

Like everyone here, I like meeting new people and travelling...

My Girlfriend..who's really my better half :)

Football/Soccer. :)

I like dancing..salsa and merengue and listening to music..to Dancehall/Soca/Bollywood Tunes/R&B/Reggaeton and Bachata and stuff

- My fav writer is V.S. Naipaul, not for his books per se, but for his personality and the cultural emancipation of my people of which he is a symbol.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving for 100's of km in the Surinamese jungle with my dad..for no particular reason.

Going to Russia: Moscow and St. Petersburg!

August 2008: Driving more than 8000 miles in 3 weeks from NY, Washington D.C. through Pennsylvania and Kentucky to Lascassas, Tennessee. From there through Alabama to Gulfport and Biloxi, Missippi and New Orleans.

Continuing to Dallas and Tulsa, Oklahoma (seeing the Golden Driller), moving onwards through Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas (City) and Omaha, Nebraska to Sioux City, Iowa.

3rd Leg: Sioux City - North Dakota >> Mt. Rushmore, Cody, Wyoming. Yellowstone N.P. and Montana, onwards through Idaho (weird) to Utah, Nevada and finally San Francisco! Ending in Las Vegas after having seen Yosemite, Death Valley, the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon..all which would not have been possible without the help of the couchsurfers we encountered!
