ABOUT ME

I guess I would describe myself as friendly and open-minded. I often laugh out loud at things I think of in my head, and I like to take adventures... I really like routine in my daily life, but I try to go out of my way to do interesting and random things.

I'll eat anything at least once (as long as it won't make me sick)

I love to learn and be active

And for some reason I've gotten really into learning to play the ukulele recently. I still need to make a lot of improvement, but it's really fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some really great times couchsurfing in Morocco, and now I want to give back as a host. So far I've had guests from a few different places in the US and from England. Looking forward to more!

Interests

Lots of stuff outdoors - hiking, climbing, canyoneering, camping in general. I really enjoy sailing, although I don't know when I will be able to get out again. I'm into yoga and meditation and I love to cook. I'm also learning the constellations and names of stars at the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually read non-fiction in my spare time. A few books that I have enjoyed are: River of Doubt, Drive, 1491, Blink, Guns Germs and Steel, Lolita, the Tao Te Ching

some movies: Good Will Hunting, The Lives of Others, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Step Into Liquid, Diarios de Motocicleta, The Secret In Their Eyes

Music I guess I have pretty eclectic musical taste. Some artists I like are: Nickel Creek, Zion I, Debussy, Kings of Convenience, Spoon, Zero 7, Ben Harper, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Bonobo, RJD2, Prefuse 73, Ronald Jenkees (check him out), Little People, Elliot Smith, the Be Good Tanyas, Justice, Common. There's so much good music out there that I can't really keep up, but chances are that if you like it I will too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that comes to mind is standing lookout on a sailboat in the middle of the night with nothing in sight but stars.

Teach, Learn, Share

Right now I am into learning the constellations, and I would be happy to share. I also enjoy cooking and would love to share/pick up some tricks. And I've been playing the ukulele, which has been really fun.
