About Me

ABOUT ME

Im a theoretical and imaginative type who loves language, culture, learning new things.

Love to cook, whether entertaining friends and newcomers with outlandish dinners, or experimenting alone with recipes and a bottle of wine.

Ive been fortunate to have travelled abroad quite a bit, and my favorite part of it all is mixing with the locals, making fleeting or lasting friends quickly. It's funny finding couchsurfing, for this has been a way of life for many years, finding little else in life more satisfying.

Ive lived a life that has been pretty deliberate in experiencing as much as I can, without fear or judgment. I like where that has taken me.

Im new to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have stayed with a few other CSers so far, and have hosted various others. Always an amazing experience.

Interests

I love LP records, live music, quiet movies, revising recipes, teaching English reading and writing, yoga, bicycling, reading nonfiction, short films, animated shorts, almond milk and espresso, dictionaries, etymologies, the current smells of the seasons, deep dark tanning oil, swimming in the ocean, drinking at an ocean-side bar, a nicely hand-rolled cigarette, Irish whiskey: neat, puttanesca, the name Esperanza, singing karaoke, improvisational music making, theatre performance, praising courageous and/or kind friends, making my dreams come true, demonstrating to others that dreams come true, decorum, polite gestures, and bizarre sacred rituals :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I dont like to drop names. Im always looking for new ways to see things anew. Finding rare music, listening to good college radio, makes me very very happy. Gives me hope.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once picked up by the Coast Guard, swimming a mile or so off shore, apparently blocking a shipping lane. Ive had great dogs. I puddle-jumped the pacific, and lived the same day (Dec 7th 2001) twice.
