CURRENT MISSION

A few months ago, Julie worked in a refuge of women victims of violence in Bolivia and Hugo in a cultural center with youth.

ABOUT ME

We are a couple from Montreal and our passion is to travel around the world and discover new culture, new tradition, new ways of living and learn from it. That's why we decided to work in social area in different countries and travel at the same time!

Julie: I started to travel when I was 19 years old (already 10 years ago!) and for me it's an addiction. I always want to discover new countries, new places that I don't know! That's why I decided to study something that can make me travel and help people at the same time. I'm really involved in the way to try with little things to make a better world, especially for people in needs.

Hugo: I'm from a traveler's family and my parents made me discover new countries since I'm young. That's probably why I have this common passion with Julie! Together we decided to start to work as international cooperants and we went first in Benin, Africa for 6 months, and then in Bolivia for a longer contract of almost 2 years. We just finished that great experience a few months ago and we are already thinking of where could be our next contract!! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We really enjoyed our experiences in couchsurfing while traveling. We've met amazing people when we surfed in Brazil, we‘ve shared life experience and interest, political or philosophical conversations. We’ve learned a lot about the community and the values as we got more involved in the couchsurfing project!

Interests

We like to cook and love to discover new food, new recipes.

We are crazy about all kinds of animals!

We both like photography and Hugo is passionate by filming and making little movies.

Hugo: likes visual art, bicycle, trekking, climbing, yoga, good coffee, movies and bagels!

Julie: likes salsa, African dance and all dances in general, reggae music, pets, gardening, wine, sushi, jembe and night out with friends!
