ABOUT ME

I have a scientific side and a creative side. Never been able to choose so I do both. I work to be part of the solution, environmentally speaking. I sing to feel free and because I love music and it's the only instrument I manage to play. My boyfriend works for the same goal. We actually work together. On the artistic side he play bass guitar mostly, but he's a faily good guitar player. We both speak french and english (french his our mother tongue) and Pascal speaks spanish. I put "int. spanish" as an average in that skill since I don't speak spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

A mixture of a lot of philosophies and personal experience. I'm pretty influence by Buddism philosophy.

I host and I travel. I/we am/are pretty new on that site. We might get more involved in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first CS I hosted was not through the connection of the site, so I don't know if it counts. Anyway, circumstances made us friend and then he works with us... he hasn't left our city yet... But we really have nothing to do with that ;)

My first real CS experience was in May 2008 while traveling in Poland. We met Martin in Warsaw with whom Pascal and I totally connected. He wasn't supposed to host us at first, he was bored and just wanted to give us a city tour. But we were getting along great and we prolonged our meeting. He even offered to come to our next destination with us and make that a road trip. Turns out we got a pretty scary car accident. I don't wish for anybody to get a car crash, but it was truly a personal life changing experience and the intensity of the adventure just strengthens the bonds we recently created we our host. Pascal met him another time in London and we hope to see him in Montreal soon!

Interests

music (making and listening), environmental issues, learning, discovering, painting, reading, canoeing, camping, talking, meet with friends, improvized party, karaoke (I know it's a bit corny and unfair), traveling (but I feel so bad for my carbon footprint), cycling, gardening, cat loving.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie: I don't listen to a lot of movies these days for philosophical reason ;) but my all time favorites are Woody Allen's, Miyazaki's and Kar-Wai's movies.

Music: The list would be to long, but my top two are: Radiohead and Bjork. I love every album they made! I would also mention Regina Spector, Cat Power, Mogwai, Cinematic Orchestra and a lot of great Québec artists (franco and anglo).

Books: Again I can hardly make a list, but the main books that have changed something in me are: Ishmael (Daniel Quinn), Skinny leg and all AND Another road side attraction (Tom Robbins) et Le comte de Monté-Cristo (Dumas).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm pretty proud of a 15 days canoeing trip in total autonomy, I made with Pascal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share knowledge that puts in evidence the urgency to change our unsustainable way of living (not in an optimistic perpective though). I can also teach chemistry or basic science related knowledge. I can share Montreal underground music and other Quebec music.
