Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting over the last 5 years and attending the occassional meeting or event.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been lucky enough to host a number of people here in Sydney and I had some wonderful surfs in Barcelona, France, Italy, Greece and New York. Best times of my trips. I cant speak highly enough about how wonderful this project is ...the people involved are so kind and welcoming. I even went back to Spain two years later to join my first host on a road trip, and have gone on to stay with surfers I have hosted, in their own countries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one?? Impossible...here are just a few:

Eaten tapas in Grenada...best ever!!

Visited Montmatre in Paris...something I have dreamed of doing since I studied French in high school (many many years ago)

Climbed to the top of the Duomo in Milan and marvelled at the workmanship.

Spent the night in the train station in Montpellier (and survived to tell the tale!!)

Walked down the canals of Chagny and watched river boats and fishermen go about their business.

Strolled on top of the walls of Lucca...one of the prettiest medieval cities in Tuscany

Baked in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun in the Amalfi Coast (sooo beautiful).

Wandered through the fresh fish markets in Palermo (wow what an experience!)

Visited the Vatican City in Rome (obscene amounts of money tied up in the church but such an incredible art collection)

Meandered my way through just a few of the many beautiful Greek Islands (wow!)

Backyard BBQ in Montpellier with the most delicious smoked melted Brie and Camembert on fresh baguettes.

Jazz clubs in Harlem.
