ABOUT ME

I'm the kind of girl you see at a football (the American kind) match decked out in my team's colours, cheering at the top of my lungs and razzing the refs when they make a bad call; the kind of girl who loves trying new things, even if it's just so I can honestly say, "I don't like that"; the kind of girl who breaks down and cries on any roller coaster/thrill ride but can laugh at myself after the terror has passed.

PHILOSOPHY

You can't be afraid to try new things, go to new places, meet new people. Get out there and leave your mark on the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host as many surfers as I can. I want to say yes more often, but a busy and draining schedule makes it difficult. I haven't hosted anyone in a long while, but I would love to meet up with surfers who are spending some time in GZ.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The people I've met/hosted through couch surfing have seriously made a huge impact on my life. I've learned so many things from every single one of them. I only hope I've done the same for them.

Interests

Reading, watching films, catching up with friends, smoking shisha at an outdoor cafe, photography, painting, drawing. I like to go out - bars, pubs, anywhere I can share a drink and stories with friends. Biking, hiking, sports...basically if it's outside, I'm there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Well I guess just to name a few - Monty Python, anything by Mel Brooks, Star Wars (the older ones are better), classic films are ace! And of course the occasional Disney film.
Music: ANYTHING from the 60s and 70s; I'm happy to listen to most anything that's on really. I don't say no to music.
Books: adventure stories, Windows on the World, books by Hugo, Zola, and Austen. I just finished the Cairo Trilogy by Naguib Mahfouz. Please read these books. (I was amazed at the parallels between life in Cairo in the early/mid-20th century and now. I honestly felt like I was in the story.) Currently on the fifth book in the Game of Thrones series. I've been sucked in. These books are quite good reads.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to uni in England all by myself. It was a huge jump into the unknown that I wasn't sure I could do on my own, but it was the best decision I've ever made.

Deciding to open up my home to fellow couch surfers. It had taken a long time for the thought to even cross my mind, and once I hosted my first surfer, I knew it was the right decision. The things you can learn from others, about others, about yourself are reason enough to host AND surf.
